Sherrie is owner of Momma Murphy's Mugs. Her creative outlet where she makes 11 ounce mugs with messages, personality traits, and cute animals that resonate with her. As she phrases it, these are “mugs that make you smile”.
She’s a mother looking to build a retirement income for herself. Sherrie has worked 17 years in supply chain management as a purchasing agent. Along with her experience purchasing for corporate, she’s also had experience managing production of her own business as a partner in Reign Bow Ties.
Since people choose mugs as a reflection of themselves, she’d like to include images and phrases that represents her personality. Things such as being introverted, quirky, her love for horror movies, and being a black woman.
Currently Sherrie is in the startup stage and looking to find distribution for her mugs. Though still pinpointing what sets her brand apart from others, Sherrie pays great attention to detail when making her mugs. From being very intentional with the artwork she places on the mugs to making sure each mug is both quality and durable. The mugs are also both microwave and dish washer safe.
Ultimately, Sherrie would like to setup a shop where she can place and promote her products strategically. A shop that she doesn’t need to manage consistently but can check on add products to. From our discussion, a few great places to start include Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, or Shopify.
Along with that she’ll also need strategies to promote her platform. Today you need more than just a great product, but a way to engage your audience and get them involved with the product.
One of the main things I got from this consultation was that Murphy-Willet is very intentional and authentic with the work she's put into these mugs. With that in mind, let’s focus on making the customer FEEL when they see these mugs. As well as showing the effort that went into making them.
